Terms of Use
gryd.app | Last updated: August 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of GRYD, including the GRYD mobile application, website, events platform, community tools, messaging features, payment flows, and related services operated by GRYD Group Limited.
Company name: GRYD Group Limited
Company number: 16950107
Registered in: England and Wales
Contact: support@gryd.app
By accessing or using GRYD, creating an account, joining a club, registering for an event, sending a message, or making a payment, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our End User Licence Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use GRYD.
2. The GRYD Platform
GRYD helps members discover and participate in communities, clubs, events, and conversations. Features may include account creation, profile approval, club membership, event creation and management, free and paid event registration, QR check-in, chat, reporting, push notifications, and administration tools.
Some features are available only to approved users, club members, hosts, admins, or users who meet event-specific eligibility requirements. We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features where needed for operational, legal, commercial, safety, or product reasons.
3. Eligibility And Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use GRYD. You must provide accurate account and profile information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly update details that become inaccurate.
Account access may require email verification, profile completion, manual approval, club approval, payment confirmation, or other safety and eligibility checks. We may reject, suspend, restrict, or remove an account if information is incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with these Terms.
4. Communities, Clubs, And Events
Clubs and events may be created, managed, or moderated by GRYD, club owners, hosts, admins, or other authorised users. Club owners and event hosts are responsible for keeping event information accurate, setting clear attendance requirements, and managing attendees fairly.
Event details, prices, capacity, privacy settings, location visibility, cancellation rules, check-in requirements, and attendee access may vary by event. You are responsible for reviewing the event details before registering or paying.
5. Community Owner Responsibilities
This section applies to you if you own or help manage a community on GRYD, including owners, managers, and anyone appointed to run events or access attendee information.
GRYD is the platform, not the event organiser. GRYD provides the software for discovery, registration, payment, and communication. Your community organises and runs its own events. You are responsible for what happens at them.
If you run a community or its events, you are responsible for:
- Running events lawfully and safely. You must hold any licences, permissions, and insurance your events need, comply with venue rules, capacity limits, age restrictions, and health and safety requirements, and take reasonable care of your attendees.
- Accurate listings and honoured commitments. Event details, prices, and policies you publish must be accurate, and you must honour the ticket, entry, cancellation, and refund terms you set, along with attendees' rights under consumer law.
- Protecting attendee and member information. Information you can see through GRYD (member lists, guest lists, registrations, check-in records, contact details) is personal and often sensitive: for many of our members, appearing on a list for a queer community or event is itself private information. You may use this information only to run your community and its events. You must not export it, sell it, share it with anyone who does not need it (including venue staff beyond the access GRYD provides), use it for marketing outside GRYD without proper consent, or keep it longer than needed. If you take information off the platform, you are responsible for handling it in line with data protection law.
- Never outing anyone. You must not disclose a member's participation, identity, or personal information outside the community without their consent, except where the law requires it.
- Your community's conduct. You must apply our Community Guidelines within your community, deal with reports fairly, and not use your role to harass, exploit, or exclude people unlawfully.
If a community or its organisers breach this section, we may remove events, restrict features, suspend or remove the community, or suspend or ban the accounts involved.
6. Payments, Fees, Cancellations, And Refunds
For community-run events, your ticket or registration is a contract between you and the community running the event. GRYD provides the registration and payment technology and collects payment on the community's behalf.
Paid event registration is processed through Stripe. Prices may include the event price, booking fees, processing fees, discounts, or other amounts shown before you confirm payment. You authorise us and our payment providers to charge the selected payment method for the amount shown at checkout.
A paid registration is not confirmed until payment succeeds and the registration is recorded in GRYD. If a payment fails, is cancelled, expires, or cannot be matched to a valid pending registration, access to the paid event may not be granted.
Refunds, cancellations, transfers, and no-show handling depend on the event policy shown in the app and any mandatory rights you have under applicable law. If the product does not offer automated cancellation or transfer for a specific event, contact support@gryd.app with the event and account details.
You must not misuse payment flows, discounts, refunds, transfers, charge disputes, event capacity controls, or registration systems.
7. User Content
You are responsible for content you submit to GRYD, including profile information, images, club descriptions, event details, chat messages, reports, support requests, and other communications.
You keep ownership of your content, but you grant GRYD Group Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, moderate, adapt, and use that content as needed to operate, protect, improve, and provide GRYD.
This licence exists so the platform can work (showing your profile to your communities, delivering your messages, displaying event pages) and for no wider purpose. We know that for many of our members, being visible in a queer community space is personal and sensitive. We will only use your content as needed to run, protect, and improve GRYD, always in line with our Privacy Policy, your visibility settings, and data protection law. We never sell your content or your personal data, and we do not use your content for advertising outside GRYD without your consent.
You must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, misleading, exploitative, sexually explicit in an unsafe or unlawful way, invasive of privacy, infringing, malicious, or otherwise harmful to users, communities, events, or GRYD.
8. Feedback And Suggestions
We welcome feedback. “Feedback” means your ideas about the product: suggestions, feature requests, improvements, bug reports, designs, or other input about how GRYD works. Feedback does not include your personal data, profile, photos, messages, or other personal content: those stay yours under the User Content section and are always protected by our Privacy Policy. If you provide Feedback, you agree that:
- You provide Feedback voluntarily and free of charge. We owe you no payment, credit, attribution, royalty, equity, ownership share, or other compensation for it, even if we use it.
- You assign to GRYD Group Limited all intellectual property rights in your Feedback, worldwide and without restriction. To the extent any rights cannot be assigned, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, modify, commercialise, and build on your Feedback for any purpose.
- To the extent permitted by law, you unconditionally and irrevocably waive any moral rights in your Feedback, including any right to be identified as its author or to object to how it is used or changed.
- Providing Feedback does not create any confidentiality obligation on us, and does not give you any claim to ownership of, or interest in, GRYD or any feature, product, or business that resembles or incorporates your Feedback.
This section applies to all Feedback, including Feedback given during beta or pilot participation, in conversations, in chat, by email, or in any other form. It decides who owns product ideas. It never reduces your privacy rights, and any personal data included with Feedback is handled under our Privacy Policy and data protection law.
9. Community Safety And Moderation
GRYD is built for community trust and safety. We may review reports, investigate account activity, remove content, limit event access, suspend or ban users, reject profiles, remove clubs or events, preserve audit records, and contact users or authorities where reasonably needed for safety, security, legal compliance, or platform integrity.
Moderation decisions may rely on user reports, admin review, platform records, payment records, account status, event activity, and other relevant information. We are not required to publish enforcement methods that could compromise safety or security.
We recognise that information on GRYD may reveal sensitive things about our members, including sexual orientation or gender identity. Where we review, share, or disclose information for safety or legal reasons, we share only what is necessary, with those who need it, in line with our Privacy Policy and data protection law.
10. Acceptable Use
You must not use GRYD to:
- Break the law or encourage unlawful activity
- Harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, exploit, or endanger anyone
- Discriminate against protected groups or promote hate
- Scrape, harvest, sell, or misuse user, club, event, or chat data
- Upload malware or interfere with platform operation or security
- Bypass approval, access, capacity, payment, or moderation controls
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, club, event, or authority
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
11. Intellectual Property
GRYD, the GRYD brand, logos, design elements, software, platform structure, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by GRYD Group Limited or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from GRYD except as allowed by these Terms, the app store rules, or applicable law.
12. Third-Party Services
GRYD uses third-party services for authentication, hosting, database, storage, payments, maps, push notifications, analytics, app distribution, and support. These services may have their own terms and policies. GRYD Group Limited is not responsible for outages, delays, or actions of third-party providers outside our reasonable control.
13. Beta Features And Pilot Access
We may make early, experimental, pilot, or “beta” features, communities, or programmes available to some users before general release. Your use of any beta feature or participation in any pilot (including setting up communities or events, testing flows, or being invited to try new functionality) is use of the GRYD service under these Terms, on the same basis as any other use.
Participation in a beta or pilot does not make you a co-creator, contributor, developer, founder, or collaborator on GRYD, and does not give you any ownership, intellectual property, revenue, equity, or other interest in GRYD, the GRYD platform, or GRYD Group Limited, regardless of how much you use the platform or how much feedback you provide.
Beta features are provided “as is” and “as available”. They are experimental, may contain errors, may change without notice, and may be modified, limited, or withdrawn at any time. We make no commitment that any beta feature will become generally available, remain available to you, or work in any particular way. Beta or pilot participation never reduces your privacy rights: your personal data is always handled under our Privacy Policy and data protection law.
14. Privacy And Cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain personal data. The website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and, where you consent, analytics.
15. Disclaimers
GRYD is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, event availability, user attendance, club availability, event suitability, or compatibility with every device, browser, operating system, or third-party service.
Event hosts, club owners, members, venues, and other users are responsible for their own conduct. GRYD may support discovery, registration, communication, and moderation, but we do not control every offline interaction or guarantee the conduct of any user or venue.
16. Limitation Of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GRYD Group Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, opportunity, or expected savings arising from or related to GRYD.
17. Suspension And Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create safety or security risk, misuse payments or events, harm other users, infringe rights, or expose GRYD to legal or operational risk.
You may stop using GRYD at any time and may request account deletion through available product or support flows. Some records may be retained where needed for legal, safety, payment, audit, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
18. Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will notify registered users or ask them to accept updated Terms before continuing to use GRYD.
19. Relationship Between You And GRYD
These Terms do not create, and your use of GRYD (including any beta or pilot participation, community ownership, event hosting, or feedback) does not create, any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or worker relationship between you and GRYD Group Limited. You have no authority to act for us, represent us, or bind us in any way, and you must not claim otherwise. Nothing you do on or with GRYD entitles you to a share of our profits, revenue, assets, or equity.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you mandatory rights in another location.
21. Contact
