Community is
the point.

Most apps are built to keep you looking. Endless profiles, endless scroll, endless nearly. Very good at showing you people. Not built to get you into a room with them.

Meanwhile the actual scene, the Tuesday night run, the queer book club, the Sunday swim, the monthly sober social, lives in group chats and stories you would have to already follow to see. If you’ve just moved to a city, that is a closed door. Not because anyone shut it. Because nobody wrote down where it was.

GRYD is where those communities live in public. Clubs that actually meet: run, read, climb, dance, swim, cook, sit in a park on a Sunday and talk rubbish. Each one has a page (who they are, who they’re for, when they next meet) and everything coming up sits in one place, in date order.

No algorithm deciding who you should meet. You find a community you like the look of, you turn up, and you meet people the way people have always met people: doing something, together, more than once.

More gay and queer people connected in real life. That is the whole job. Not sign-ups, not time spent in an app: people who found a community this year and are still in it.

Find a community. Join an event. Meet your people. Everything we build gets judged on whether it makes that shorter.

London first, because it’s where we are and where the scene runs deep enough to prove the idea. But none of this is London-shaped. Every city has run clubs and book groups and dancefloors that are hard to find from the outside, full of people who would be glad you came. We intend to go city by city until they’re easy to find.
